Raising Breast Cancer Awareness & Providing Charitable Assistance
Upon learning that our 22 year old sister, Kaiti Pulice, had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, we formed When I... Inc., a New York State Not for Profit Corporation.
When I... has been founded to honor Kaiti's strength, courage, and perseverance. When I... is a place for knowledge, support, assistance and community.
Originally a Stage 1 diagnosis, a mere six weeks later, Kaitlin's doctors confirmed that her Breast Cancer had elevated to Stage 3. She is currently undergoing treatment (2010). Despite the circumstances, Kaitlin has maintained a positive outlook and remains strong. When I... has named Kaiti the first official When I... Spokeswoman.
Kaiti is a recent college graduate, a lover of the arts, a daughter, sister, girlfriend, niece, cousin and friend. Her diagnosis came as a shock to those around her. We generally do not foresee or believe that Breast Cancer might occur at such a young age and thus it is difficult to grasp that this disease, which typically afflicts women at a later stage in life, has stepped into the realm of young womanhood. When I... exists to spread the word: Breast Cancer CAN and DOES afflict young women.
When I... has initiated a charitable donation program to provide financial assistance to young women for the cost of treatment, care, hospitality, medical expenses, medical procedures and cost of living expenses.
In addition to our commitment to easing the financial burdens that come with the fight against Breast cancer we are devoted to fostering a socially enriched environment through which young women & their supporters will find comfort and inspiration in art, music and community.
The When I... organization encourages women to maintain their identity, individuality and youth. We strongly believe that Breast Cancer should never supersede a woman’s personal endeavors. Look to the future and live in the spirit of “When I...”!
